All abstracts will be evaluated as to their content, quality and appropriateness to overall Student Meeting tracks. We will try to accommodate the majority of abstracts; however, the final decision about acceptance of and presentation format for individual submissions will be made by the Planning Committee. Submissions are encouraged in all formats.

Abstracts for Oral Presentations

Oral presentation abstracts should be presented in a traditional meeting abstract with a clear aim, brief description of methods, results and conclusions.  It is expected that the first author will present the work.  Each oral presentation will be 15 minutes including discussion period. Up to 48 abstracts will be accepted as oral presentations.  All oral presentations must be in English but power point slides may be in English or French. Specific oral presentation guidelines will be available on the Canadian Obesity Student Meeting website in early January 2010.

Abstracts for Poster Presentations

We also encourage presentation of work in poster format, an exhibition which will enable discussion with presenters. Poster authors will be asked to stand by their poster during scheduled poster presentation times. These presentations will also be made according to the student meeting themes. Abstracts should take the form of traditional meeting abstracts with a clear aim, brief description of methods, results and conclusions.  Posters can be in English or French.  Specific poster presentation guidelines will be available on the Canadian Obesity Student Meeting website in early January 2010.

You can choose to submit abstracts for oral or poster or both, but the Planning Committee will make a final format recommendation based on the overall submissions in order to develop a comprehensive and compelling program.
